Iowa State Fair

March with us at the Iowa State Fair!

It is Iowa's largest parade and it kicks off Iowa's largest summer celebration, the Iowa State Fair. Traditionally held the night before the Iowa State Fair each year, thousands gather to watch high school marching bands, floats, cool cars, and special causes as they stroll through downtown Des Moines. From people to fun to memorable moments, the Iowa State Fair parade is the perfect start to make sure that Nothing Compares to Iowa State Fair Moments, August 9-19, 2018.

Waukee 4th of July Celebration

March with us in Waukee's annual 4th of July Parade!

Each year, Waukee hosts an all-day celebration of our nation's independence. Activities start at 3 p.m. with a parade through the Historic Downtown that ends at Centennial Park where the fun continues for the rest of the day and night. Bring your friends and family for fun with inflatables, live music from the band Mud Dogs in the evening, food vendors and a great fireworks show after dusk. 

Location:  Parade begins downtown followed by entertainment and vendors in Centennial Park

Time: Parade begins at 3 p.m. with park festivities capping off at dusk with the annual fireworks show

Fee: Free


There is not a beverage garden at this event, however, alcohol is permitted in the park during the celebration by those ages 21 and older.

Parade Information

The fun begins at 3 p.m. with a parade through Historic Downtown. 

Everyone is welcome to be in Waukee’s Fourth of July Parade. Registration is not required. Those who wish to participate in the parade should arrive at 2 p.m. at the Vince Meyer Learning Center located at 400 Locust Street. No water balloons or guns will be allowed in the parade.

Des Moines Pride Parade

The 2018 Pride Parade will once again take place in the Historic East Village of downtown Des Moines with the parade making its iconic route from the Statehouse and traveling west alongside East Locust Street.
